Sara Groves began writing songs when she was four-years-old. She has never stopped. She received a BS in history and English from Evangel University in Springfield, MO, then returned to her hometown, Rosemount, MN and taught high school for four years.

Her first album, the independent “Past The Wishing,” was released in 1998. She was quickly signed by INO Records and released “Conversations” in 2001. That album included a number of radio singles and brought her national attention and led to a Dove Award nomination for New Artist of the Year, ZOEgirl won the award that year.

Sarah has released 11 albums in total and recently did a video with her daughter Ruby, “Jesus, See The Traveler.”

Sarah is a storyteller and my favorite singer/songwriter from Minnesota, beating a guy named Robert Zimmerman. Her lyrics are open and honest, often dealing with deep even dark issues, but she always manages to bring them back around to the hope she finds in Jesus.
