"A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones." - Proverbs 17:22

Take two belly laughs and call me in the morning! If God’s people ever needed to laugh, it’s now! Doctors have long observed the connection between laughter and healing, but now there’s plenty of science to back up what doctors have seen.

In this article from Forbes Magazine titled "Six Science-Based Reasons Why Laughter Is The Best Medicine", scientists explain the reasons for the connection between laughter and healing.

-Laughter is a potent endorphin releaser.

-Laughter contagiously forms social bonds.

-Laughter fosters brain connectivity.

-Laughter is central to relationships.

-Laughter has an effect similar to antidepressants.

-Laughter protects your heart.

HelpGuide also wrote an article titled "Laughter is the Best Medicine" that helps us understand the link between laughter and our physical and emotional health.

Whether it’s comedians, a sitcom, or a precious baby, laughing twenty minutes a day is like eating all your fruits and veggies! It’s that important.

This week I was reminded how much laughter is good for you physically when my grandbaby, Thomley, had her first belly laugh! I deal with chronic, severe pain, and after laughing with that sweet girl, my children, and son-in-law, the shooting pain in my body disappeared for more than two hours.
