Going Ape

Last week Dr. Jane Goodall celebrated 60 years of studying chimpanzees in Tanzania! She discovered so many things that broke the mold of what we thought about animal behavior.

One of the coolest...she learned that they show emotion and compassion for one another.

Dr. Goodall witnessed chimpanzees embracing to comfort one another in mourning and documented the adoption of orphaned chimpanzees by others in the community. Challenging the notion that non-human animals lack emotions, she was witnessing compassion and altruism, not unlike our own.

Read more about her work and watch the awesome documentary “Jane” in your spare time.
