The Morning Cruise Replay - In The Spirit Of Giving

Monday, December 14, 2020

It wasn't planned, but the spirit of giving took over the show today on The Morning Cruise.

Carmen's still got some Christmas shopping to do and did a quick check-in with the guys to find out where they are at with their own Christmas shopping.

As Christmas Eve will be celebrated at home by many this year, Carmen is getting her family ready for the celebration with some candles. But what she got wasn't what she wanted. So Bill made up a game and gave away some of the candles this morning.

And then, Al called. Al, a longtime listener, reached out for some help in finding the charcuterie book that Carmen listed in her favorite things, as a Christmas gift for his wife. It's sold out online, so Carmen offered up her copy of the book. That was followed by a call from Paul offering engraving on a charcuterie board for Al and then Bernie, a butcher, who makes charcuterie meats, reached out to offer Al a selection of meats and cheeses.

When we called Al back, he was very surprised at the generosity from other JOY FM listeners.

The folks behind The Chosen TV series were overwhelmed last night with so many people tuning in for their Christmas special that the show had some technical glitches.

Carmen gave us some wise words from her pastor, Aaron Burke of Radiant Church, in his message yesterday on Finding Hope In The Midst Of Hurt and an Instagram post from Lysa TerKeurst.

Bill gave us some insight into the history of some Christmas symbols and that brought Dave back to a memory of a school field trip.

Finally, Bill delivered his BIG Word of the Day.
