Description:
Augusta Prep has an Extended Day Assistant position available for the 2022-2023 school year. The primary responsibilities of the position are to supervise students, direct activities, and ensure the safety and security of students and school property during the Extended Day program from 2:30 – 6:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for ensuring the safety and security of students and school property during the Extended Day program. Assists with and monitors the completion of homework. Develops, coordinates, and directs a variety of activities appropriate for an after-school program. Responsible for distributing afternoon snacks. Establishes and maintains communication with regular day and after school staff and parents regarding all aspects of student involvement in the program. Able to work 6-10 hour shifts on 5-10 teacher workdays, faculty childcare days & school half-days throughout the year. Available to work Summer Camp Extended Day between the hours of 12-6 PM Obtain 10-16 hours of Georgia Bright from the Start – approved childcare training annually.* Qualifications: Experience and education in childcare, or a childcare related field, is preferable. Ability to work well with children. Must have the ability to monitor and manage large groups of students of various ages at one time. Must be dependable and punctual. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with faculty, staff, and parents. Ability to follow verbal and or written instructions. Ability to work under stress and handle various situations. Ability to take charge, remain calm, and direct children in case of an emergency. Current First Aid and CPR certification, or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment.* *Training expenses will be covered by Augusta Preparatory Day School. Individuals with degrees are eligible to sub in classrooms additionally.
Qualifications:
Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred) Experience: Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
