The successful candidate will accomplish the following: • Utilizes OCLC Connexion to search for matching records of purchased and donated items in various formats (books, CDs, DVDs), according to OCLC matching criteria. • Updates holdings for items in OCLC and exports records to Alma (integrated library management system). • Creates local holdings and item records. • Processes and maintain materials, adding call number stickers, barcodes, security strips, etc., based on material type and shelving location. • Assists with weeding/withdrawing items and their associated records from the collection/catalog. De-marks and removes physical items from the Library according to University System of Georgia retention policies. • Participates in maintaining the online catalog by correcting or updating bibliographic, holdings, and item records. • Produces monthly and annual statistical reports of all items added and removed from the collection.
Minimum Requirements • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited college or university. • Previous library experience. Preferred • Familiarity with academic library standards, procedures, and platforms, • Familiarity with the following: Machine-Readable Cataloging records (MARC), Library of Congress Classification (LCC), Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH), OCLC Connexion Client, Ex Libris’ Alma (local integrated library management system), WorldCat, GALILEO, and GIL-FIND Online Catalog.
