Description:

Brief Job Description: This is a responsible position, requiring a certified law enforcement officer. Responsible for maintaining security and decorum in the various trials. Respond to emergencies within the courthouse, and assist with emergency evacuation of the building. This is a specialized law enforcement position, which requires a sworn deputy classification.


Qualifications:

Job Qualifications: Must be a Law Enforcement Officer certified as defined by the Criminal Justice Standards and Training; successfully complete and maintain proficiency in annual firearms training as required by agency policy. Must have effective communication skills both orally and in writing. Must successfully complete the Bailiff FTO program. Must maintain a valid Florida driver's license. High School diploma or GED. Successfully complete Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission training in the State of Florida or receive a certificate of comparative compliance from the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License, with a good driving record. Be able to effectively communicate information both orally and in writing. Ability to react quickly and calmly under emergency situations. Ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively, and determine a proper course of action. Ability to cope with situations firmly, courteously and tactfully, with respect to rights of others. Ability to develop skill in use and care of firearms. Ability to maintain physical condition needed to affect arrest, subdue resisting individuals, chase fleeing subjects, lift and carry equipment and injured persons, force entry into buildings, climb flights of stairs, walk, stand, sit or drive for long periods of time, endure exposure to extreme weather.Ability to react quickly and calmly under emergency situations. Ability to cope with situations firmly, courteously and tactfully, with respect to rights of others. Ability to develop skill in use and care of firearms. Be in good physical and mental condition, and successfully pass physical and psychological examinations.
