Description:
The Augusta Rescue Mission is looking for a part-time Food Services Coordinator to oversee the kitchen operations and food service for our overnight and residential shelter programs including ensuring meals are provided and kitchen processes are maintained and accomplished. This position will work under the supervision of the Executive Director and help coordinate various aspects of operations including inventory, orders, and meal preparation. The individual in this role will be the main point of contact regarding food service, kitchen volunteers, and overseeing resident kitchen crew and their work details. Job Duties are: • Maintain the kitchen and prepare meals. • Coordinate all meal services and menus. • Have Serv-Safe Food Handling Certificate. • Train residents and volunteers and delegates responsibilities to them as directed by management. • Create or maintain an inventory process to ensure food safety and efficiency. • Maintain cleanliness in the Kitchen to ensure top health scores. • Communicate with E.D. concerning ordering food and supplies. • Create a cleaning schedule, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly. • Coordinate food donation pick up with management. • Communicate with E.D regarding information concerning churches and volunteers for events, etc. • Report any kitchen related issues, problems, and concerns to Executive Director. • Report any issues, problems, and concerns with residents to Program Manager. • Provide reports concerning inventory and numbers of meals/men served, etc. • Work at occasional special events during holiday season and special events when necessary (Thanksgiving Morning Outreach Event and Resident Christmas Party)


Qualifications:
• Experience in food services/kitchen/restaurant work • Leadership experience in managing and training a small crew • Proven experience in restaurant kitchen food preparation and planning skills e.g. excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving and follow-through skills related to kitchen training, and various unplanned food donations. • Ability to comprehend and facilitate policy documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Knowledgeable and experience in food safety procedures, OSHA safety procedures, kitchen project planning, budgeting, and scheduling. • Requires sound judgment regarding use of kitchen equipment, tools, material, and manpower. • Good physical condition, able to occasionally lift 20 lbs. safely. • Excellent organization and administrative skills with the ability to prioritize requests, follow procedures and keep accurate records. • Basic Typing and Computer skills: Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer). Experience entering database info and timekeeping and/or payroll systems. • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written abilities with all staff, clients, volunteers and guests in person and on the phone. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups. • Maintains an acceptable driving record (in accordance with our insurance carrier) • Has a clean background check and must remain drug free. • Able to maintain and promote Augusta Rescue Mission’s policy, procedure, and purposes • Must agree to and sign Augusta Rescue Mission’s Statement of Faith
