SWPreschool Lead Teacher Job Description SWPreschool, ministry of SWChristian Church, is a Christian education environment for ages 2 years through 4K. The staff works together as a community encouraging each other and placing Jesus as the center of all. Preschool teachers are expected to organize, supervise, implement classroom programming by following all scope and sequence and curriculum. Lead teachers will maintain open and effective communication with families. An employee of the SWPreschool will report directly to the SWPreschool Director then to the SWPreschool Advisory Team, Senior Minister, Board of Elders and to God. Position: Part-Time, hourly General Responsibilities Follow policies of SWPreschool, attend professional development, trainings and staff meetings while keeping accurate records. Respect confidentiality of SWPreschool families and staff Work with the staff team to ensure the success of all SWPreschool students by Facilitating students to engage with Jesus and understand who they are in Him Supporting children in their social/emotional, physical, cognitive and creative growth. Engaging children as individuals in a way that allows them to maximize their abilities. Effectively using SWPreschool behavior guidance techniques to help children develop the ability to become self-disciplined. Being flexible, while maintaining order in a changing environment with multiple tasks and demands. Work with staff team to create an appropriate academic and faith building environment by Creating weekly lesson plans from selected curriculum while supporting developmentally appropriate program goals. Developing monthly themes and topics to support the developmental needs of children in the program. Maintaining a safe and healthy environment and organization of classroom and materials. Maintain open communication with your classroom children and their families, which may include paperwork, newsletters, conferences and orientations. This will include periodic assessments using assessment tools approved by the SWPreschool Advisory Team. Assist the SWPreschool Director in inventory and ordering supplies of the classroom. Building the kingdom of God by Mentoring and giving feedback to staff and regular volunteers in the classroom. Providing feedback to SWPreschool Director on staff and volunteer performance. The SWPreschool environment is dynamic with a high level of activity. The applicant must be able to meet a variety of physical demands which will include Sustaining a high level of energy Ability to lift greater than 30 pounds Stand for extended periods of time, sit on the floor Assume postures in low level positions that best allow physical and visual contact with children


Qualifications Must be a regular member of an evangelical Christian church body. Christ-follower believes that God is the one and only true God who sent His son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins, and gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit once saved.
