Joy Made Full

Vine and the branchesThere is something about joy that defies definition. It’s more than being happy. Joy endures and sustains us even in the face of devastating news, heartache, and the darkest of times.

That type of everlasting, undefeatable joy is available to all who call on the name of Jesus and keep His commandments. When we abide in Him, as Jesus explained to the disciples, His joy in us and our joy is made full.

Jesus likened this to a grapevine and the branches. The branches, us, are attached to the vine, Jesus, and from it draw nourishment and strength and are able to produce fruit. In this God is glorified and we prove ourselves to be Jesus’ disciples. There's more to it, of course, but that's the crux.

This week I'll be sharing from John 15 during Middays Prayer Time, around 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM.
