Sometimes I miss things. I admit it. Whether from hurrying to get more done, or distraction it’s seems easy for me to breeze by the core concepts sometimes. Especially when they’re presented almost mater-of-factly. Such is often the case with scripture.
We look for the big reveal, the astounding truth. And those are in there. But so are the seemingly small truths, peppered among scripture almost as asides. Take this passage from 1 Peter. There are four words, a single, simple phrase that explains so much and should impact so much in our lives. “He cares for you.”
The “He” in this phrase is God. The “you,” well that’s you. God cares for you. Let me restate it. God. Cares. For. You.
The creator of the universe and everything that ever has been or ever will be cares for you. That caring was revealed ultimately in the coming of Jesus. And God continues to demonstrate His care for us every day. The truth of that phrase has the power to move us to amazing action and should impact every relationship we have.
I’ll be sharing from this short passage in 1 Peter during this week’s Middays Prayer Time, around 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM.
