Jesus told His disciples, and by extension us, that the world would know that we are His disciples by the love we exhibit toward one another. The New Testament is full of references to how we should treat one another. Words like “encourage,” “stimulate,” “serve,” “esteem,” “comfort,” and “accept” are used to illustrate the way Christians should behave toward one another. In part because of the love Jesus has demonstrated for us and how it is to flow through us. And in part so that those who do not know Jesus may recognize something different in those of us who claim to serve and love Him.
