No matter what we’re going through, we can be assured that God stands with us. In this, the 19th of 22 8-verse stanzas in Psalm 119, the writer recognizes and proclaims this truth. There are troubled times we will all face, and sometimes in the midst of them it can seem that God doesn’t hear us.
The psalmist acknowledges this in these verses, repeating how he has cried out to the Lord for help and rises before dawn to pray and looks forward meditating on God’s word. He states that the wicked, who are from God’s law, are drawing near. Yet God is already near and His word is truth, faithful and eternal.
