The life of a Christian is full of choices and opportunities to act. Once we have made that initial decision to follow Jesus we are faced with a seemingly limitless amount of options. Paul outlines some of them in Colossians 3.
Here are a few of the actions Paul outlines in that chapter: “keep seeking the things above; put aside anger wrath, malice, slander and abusive speech; do not lie; put on the new self; put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bear with one another; forgive each other; put on love.”
That’s a lot of things we are encouraged to do. And that’s only a partial list. The good news is that we don’t need to do all of these things in our own power and that by doing them we not only grow closer to God and to the people He wants us to be, but our lives are fuller, richer and more joyful. And they become new.
I’ll be sharing from this chapter during Midday Prayer Time this week.
