I check the online prayer center on The JOY FM website at least several times a week. Some of the prayer requests there are quite sobering. Individuals and families are going through some very trying times. We all encounter trials in one form or another. Some of them seem to be more than we can bear. But there is one common thread to all of those prayer requests, the person asking for prayer realizes that God is the source of their strength.
If anyone in the Bible knew what it was like to go through difficult times it was David of the Old Testament. Granted, some of the problems David faced were of his own doing. I’m sure that many of us would have to admit that too. Regardless, we can count of the Lord for help.
David outlines some of those difficult times in Psalms 28. He cries out to God for help, and admits that if the Lord did not answer, he would be without hope. But God does answer, and David realizes the correlation, “My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped.”
This week I’ll be sharing from Psalms 28 during Mid Day Prayer Time, around 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM every weekday.
