The Gospel is simple and straight forward. That’s not to say that it’s easy, but really, it’s not very complicated. I don’t know if that’s why for so many it’s difficult to believe it or even understand it.
There was man in Jesus’ day, a member of the Pharisees, who went to see Jesus one night and discuss heavenly things. But when Jesus shared the simplicity of the Gospel Nicodemus had a difficult time grasping it. “How can these things be?” he asked Jesus.
Jesus went on to explain that one major problem with comprehending the good news of the Gospel, the Light that has entered the world, is that men love darkness, because their deeds are evil and they seek to keep those deeds hidden.
This week during Mid Day Prayer Time, around 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM, we’ll share a portion of the passage that recounts Jesus’ discussion with Nicodemus.
