God ordained it and it is the foundational unit of society. Our first relationships are established in the family. Those relationships are for a lifetime and are the deepest and dearest we will ever forge.
The family is where (for most of us) we learn who we are and gain a sense of self. The family forms the basis of the type of people we become and to a large degree influences every other relationship we will ever have.
No other institution has as much impact on the individual and society as a whole as the family. No school, no government, no church. The family is the make or break unit for the world as we know it.
Little wonder then that the Bible has so much to say about the family and the relationships found in it, from husbands and wives to parents and children and even those extended family relationships, like grandparents and grandchildren. The Bible teaches us how the family should work, whether by example or direct instruction.
This week we'll be sharing just a few scripture passages dealing with the family during Mid Day Prayer Time, every weekday at around 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM.
