Ministries serving Athens

Lydia's Place

Lydia's Place serves young adults age 14-26 who have experienced foster care or homelessness. Built on Christian principles, we seek to demonstrate God’s love by providing basic needs during the transition to independent living. “If you consider me a believer in the Lord,” she said, “ Come stay at my house.” ~Acts 16:15   Visit:

The Great Exchange

GE is an equipping ministry whose goal is to come alongside existing churches and ministries with tools to share the gospel in their spheres of influence. We do this by partnering with the church or ministry to hold Great Exchange events on their campuses and in their communities. At our events, we politely ask people if they would like to participate in spiritual interest surveys. At the end of the survey, we ask if they would like to know how they can know God personally. It is an open door to share the gospel and offer an opportunity to make a personal decision to follow Jesus.

Athens PBJ

Athens PBJ

The mission of Athens PBJ is to connect the homeless and non-homeless in Athens. The primary way we do this is by meeting downtown at 2pm every Sunday and handing out brown-bag lunches to anyone in need. The lunches are a way to stop, connect, and begin establishing a relationship with the between two otherwise unconnected groups. The heart of PBJs is relationships, rooted in Christ, that mutually serve each other in different but meaningful ways. If you’d like to be a part of what the Lord is doing through Athens PBJ and have sometime on a Sunday afternoon to hand out sandwiches, you can find out more at

Sparrow's NestSparrow's Nest

Sparrow’s Nest feeds over 3,000 people each month in Athens.  It’s a place where those in need can find help in a Christ-centered environment - a hot meal or a bag of groceries shared in love; showers and laundry facilities for the homeless; donated clothing for the needy, and vibrant ministries to at-risk children and youth.  Does your church, business, or club want to get involved by helping to serve a lunch?  The Sparrow’s Nest offers opportunities to serve, to donate, and to share love and home in both word and deed.
