I am truly blessed to be a part of The JOY FM family! My radio career started at home on Long Island at WALK-FM as an overnight personality, then moved my way up (literally) to become an airborne traffic reporter for WALK for over 10 years, before moving to Atlanta to continue my traffic career. My love for this radio station started when I was the afternoon traffic reporter with Paige in 2001. That’s when my passion to work for this ministry began. I’ve always had a love for radio, but combining my passion for God with radio? WOW! What a win-win!
In October of 2011, God blessed me with the opportunity to join The JOY FM in a full time capacity as their Church and Non Profit Consultant. I love that I am able to work with churches and other organizations to partner with them to grow their ministries as well as connecting many more people to Christ.
My faith in Christ has always been a major part of my life. He has always used music as a way to touch my heart, and has blessed me with the ability to share that with others through leading music worship. I lead worship at Browns Mill Church in downtown Newnan, and will lead music worship on occasion at Peachtree City Seventh Day Adventist Church in Sharpsburg.
Family life - wife Nancy, and daughters Maddie and Emma.
Favorite Bible Verse - Jeremiah 29:11- “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Favorite Christian Artists - Steven Curtis Chapman, Chris Tomlin, Matthew West, Israel Houghton, Amy Grant, Needtobreathe
Other musical likes - Barry Manilow, Michael Buble, Billy Joel, Johnny Mathis
Teams - Diehard New York sports fan- Mets (will root for the Yankees, too!), Jets (support the Giants as well- need to keep my wife happy...), Islanders, Notre Dame football
Favorite foods - Pizza (New York style, of course!), lasagna (especially Nancy’s lasagna!), spinach and artichoke dip, coffee (not a food, yet part of my food groups!)
Favorite TV Shows - Fraiser, M*A*S*H*, Holmes on Holmes, Emergency, Quincy (love the old shows)
Favorite Books (other than the Bible) - "Comeback" and "When You Can't Comeback" (both by Dave Dravecky), "Fair Ball" by Bob Costas
Favorite Movies - "Pride of The Yankees" (yes, unusual for a Mets' fan, but I love Lou Gehrig's story), "Mr. Holland's Opus", "The Four Seasons", "The Odd Couple"
Odds and ends
- Always wanted to be a game show host!
- Wore ties and carried a briefcase in high school and college (ask Nancy about that…)
- Had the lead in Godspell in his senior year in high school (the best lead anyone could have!)
- Survived an emergency landing in his traffic reporting plane! Landed on a high school football field and hit a fence! (Missed the field goal... wide left)
By the way- every Saturday around 4:25pm, I read stories from listeners who have been moved by God through a song heard on The JOY FM. If you have a Song Story, share it with me! Click here to tell us your story.
