Following Jesus does not ensure that you will live a life free of problems. Quite the opposite, but you knew that from your own experience. In fact, following Jesus opens us up to a very unique set of problems. Jesus Himself tells us, “If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you.” And, “In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”
When we face problems, fear, anxiety of any type, the Lord walks through it with us, ultimately delivering us and strengthening us. David writes in Psalms 34, “I sought the Lord, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears.”
He goes on in that chapter to speak of the importance of teaching the fear of the Lord to our children and encouraging them with the truth that, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”
No matter what we face in life, for whatever reason, when we seek God’s help, His comfort, His peace we will never be disappointed.
