October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Some of my coworkers at The JOY FM, Rob Langer, Benji Shepherd and Ken Hammock committed to doing some pretty incredible things to help raise awareness. Ken was among the Real Men Wear Pink number, wearing something pink every day of the month. Rob and Benji each ran a 5K every day of the month. Every. Day. Of. The. Month.
I had them on the air with me about half through, on October 16. You can listen to that conversation here. Now that October is over I asked Rob and Benji to join me again and give us a recap on how they did.
In this first segment we find out how dedicated the guys turned out to be and how tough this challenge actually was.
In the second segment we talk about their plans for next October and whether or not they’ll be doing anything special, like growing out their facial hair from November, which is observed as Movember to raise awareness about men’s health issues.
Here’s a photo of Rob and Benji and the current state of their facial hair, just in case they decide to grow it out for Movember. And next to them is a photo of me. I’ve already committed to not shaving in November. Click here to go to the Breast Cancer Awareness fundraising pages of Rob, Benji and Ken.
