The month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It took on new signifigance for me this year as my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year. I'm grateful to say that my mom is a survivor!
When someone is facing cancer they have to deal with it every single day. The side effects of their treatment can be grueling.
As a way to raise awareness of breast cancer I decided to run 5k a day in the month of October. It has been quite the challenge, but I keep telling myself that cancer doesn't take a day off and neither will I. I'm reminded that in Hebrews the Bible talks about how we should "run with perseverance the race marked out for us." Of course this refers to the entire scope of our lives, but whenever we face challenges, whatever they may be - big or small, long lasting or temporary - we know that God is with us and we can rely on Him for all the strength we need to get through our trials. We can push through because we have faith in the fact that He is with us every step of the way.
