We are quick to act and slow to pray when it ought to be that we are quick to pray so that our activity is directed by the clarity and understanding we receive when God aligns our hearts with His.

How often in life are we faced with decisions that come with tension - the kind of tension that leaves our stomach in knots? I, personally, felt that kind of stress this week as my family had some tough decisions ahead. I even lost sleep over this situation wondering about what choices would be best to make. I was putting the weight of the world on my own shoulders. I should’ve PRAYED first.
When I reached the height of my anxiety, I talked to a few of my brothers in Christ who offered their experience. They also prayed for me and my family. In that moment of bringing my troubles to God’s throne I felt a tremendous sense of peace. God also granted my family the wisdom we were seeking as we worked through the trial we were facing. I feel like my family is stronger now, too.
When I look back on times like this I’m reminded that our Lord is there for us at all times waiting to give us the wisdom that we desire. He never intended for us to go it alone in this world.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
May God’s peace be with you this week,
