One Great Day of Sharing

ONE GREAT DAY OF SHARING . SATURDAY, MAY 18. 9am-2pm.    Bremen First United Methodist Church is going to Change the World on Saturday , May 18th with "ONE  GREAT DAY OF SHARING".    Change the World involves United Methodist congregations around the world seeking to make a positive impact-all during the same weekend- by creating and participating in service and fundraising projects. These efforts are part of the "Rethink Church" movement that demonstrates church is not simply a place to go, but a way of life.   We're calling our Change the World event "ONE GREAT DAY OF SHARING"  as we want to share our blessings from God with our community, nation and world. There will be a Free Yard Sale, Free Hot Dogs, UMCOR Cleaning Bucket  Drive, and more at the church.  Several service projects will be going on throughout the community as well, such as visiting local nursing homes and taking homemade treats to local emergency responders.   Our global focus is IMAGINE NO MALRIA, the United Methodist ministry to end preventable deaths from malaria in Africa.  Malaria kills an estimated 600,000 people each year.  A Penny Drive is going on through May 19th through the Children's  Sunday School department to support this ministry.  Grown-up participation is welcome and encouraged!   The entire community is invited to join us in making a positive impact not only locally but globally during our "One Great Day of Sharing". We are looking forward to seeing you on Saturday, May 18th, 9-2.     Please contact me personally with any questions or comments.
