Faith Based Disaster Network Conference
Henry County Emergency Management Agency is hosting a Faith Based Disaster Network Conference. The conference will be held on May 18, 2013 from 8am to 3pm at Grace Summit Church located at 5295 Highway 155 South in Stockbridge, GA. The conference is 100% free of charge and lunch will be provided for registrants.
This conference is a collaborative effort geared to encourage faith-based organization and their families to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses, schools, and churches. Congregants plan an integral role in the community during disasters, and we would like to work together to educate and empower our communities to prepare before disaster strikes.
Topics that will be covered in the conference include: Preparation Begins At Home, Active Shooter in Your Church, NIMS (National Incident Management System) Related to Volunteers, How to Protect Yourself on the Scene of an Emergency/Disaster, Public Health Volunteer Opportunities, Disaster Counseling on the Scene, Severe Weather, and A Table Top Exercise.
Emergencies and disasters are going to happen, we don't know when, where, or what it will be, but we can prepare in advance. Our community depends on preparation!
You can register for the conference by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org your name, organization, address, email, and phone number. Please direct all conference related questions to the 911/EMA Director, Don Ash at 770-288-7870.
This conference in non-denominational and open to all churches.
