Faith leaders are invited to learn about ways to help students at Fulton County Schools' second Faith Summit, planned for March 20 from 10 a.m. to noon. The goal is to create partnerships that improve student achievement, increase community support of schools, and support the district's Strategic Plan goals of increasing graduation and preparing students for college or work.

At the Faith Summit, faith leaders will engage in a morning of collaborative discussion with Superintendent Robert Avossa, school principals and other district leaders. Faith leaders will learn how their congregations can commit time or start service projects, such as creating food pantries or clothing drives for families in need. Breakout sessions also will be offered on grant writing, volunteerism and school safety, discipline and intervention programs, and support for homeless students and families with special needs.

The Faith Summit will be held at the school system's Professional Development Center, located at 3121 Norman Berry Drive in East Point. Registration is ongoing until March 20 at www.faithsummit.eventbrite.com.
