For the first time in our history as a station, we had the privilege of hosting Amy Grant live in our studios this morning!
We weren't interested in "doing an interview." We were interested in having a conversation with one of the most successful and remarkable people in Gospel Music. A pioneer "CCM" artist, Amy has won 6 GRAMMY awards and 25 Dove awards. Her new release, Somewhere Down the Road, is her 21st album. And she chose to debut her songs the day before the release with The Morning Cruise.
LISTEN Our first conversation with Amy was about her shared heritage in Sarasota and with The JOY FM. Man, she has a good memory!
LISTEN Amy talked about "Overnight," the song that features her daughter Sarah.
LISTEN Carmen surprised Amy with "the dress."
LISTEN Amy got the inspiration for her song "Find What You're Looking For" from her former mother-in-law.
LISTEN Bill had to fess-up about his encounter with Amy years ago on an elevator headed to the 9th floor.
LISTEN Ever had a "Home Alone" incident? Amy has!
LISTEN Amy told us about Carmen's favorite song on the new record, and she did a live version of "Unafraid". (The link to listen is below.) READ A CNN review of the album.
WATCH A live video excerpt from Amy's performance of "Unafraid," a great song on her new album, Somewhere Down the Road live.
